Timothy Wayne Sutton is the artist behind Curiosity Glassworks, an evolving collection of kiln-formed glassware shaped by curiosity and a belief that everyday objects can bring quiet delight into daily life.
After learning the fundamentals of stained glass from his grandfather in 1995, Timothy spent decades exploring the possibilities of glass one idea at a time.
Each new project became an invitation to learn—a chance to develop new techniques, explore unfamiliar materials, and ask new questions about what glass could become. Some ideas came together quickly. Others waited patiently for years until the right process, the right materials, or simply the right moment revealed themselves.
While his artistic path has been shaped by the generosity and expertise of many teachers and fellow artists, it has always been directed by ideas. Rather than mastering techniques for their own sake, each new skill has been learned in service of a question worth exploring.
Today, every piece of Curiosity Glassworks is handmade by Timothy in small batches. Some designs remain part of the collection for years. Others evolve through new ideas and new techniques, while some quietly make way for what comes next. The collection is intended to grow the same way it was created—with patience, curiosity, and a willingness to keep asking, “What if?”
